Meet the Teachers
Meet Mrs. NewkirkHello there! My name is Hannah Newkirk and I was born and raised in Adrian, where I graduated from high school in 2002. I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a very young age, so right out of high school, I went straight to Central Missouri State University (now University of Central Missouri), where I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I later became certified in Early Childhood Education, as well! Since then, I've gotten my Masters Degree in Elementary Administration and Building Administrator & Special Education Director's certification.
As I mentioned before, I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. Even before I was in school, I was making my little brother play school with me. Besides helping my students to meet the required standards, I also work hard to instill a love for learning in my students. I try to instill a sense of responsibility for each student's learning, behavior, and choices. I believe in natural consequences and accountability. Third grade is the year where students begin to move from being guided through the majority of learning to gaining an independence for learning and exploration. I love to be part of that transition! I promote our SW-PBS (School Wide Positive Behavior Support) purpose, in my classroom: "...to create a respectful, responsible, and safe environment." On the personal side, I've been married for twelve years to my husband Matthew. We have three daughters. Harlee is a fourth grader in Adrian. Claire is in second grade here at Midway. Mattie is two years old and goes to daycare here in Freeman. We live outside of Adrian. I also have a photography studio in Adrian (www.newkirkphoto.com) and I enjoy spending time working at my church (www.adriancc.org). |
Meet Mr. DeanHello, I'm Chad Dean. I am a graduate of Midway High School. This is my 16th year here as a teacher and coach. I coach JH Football, High School Girls Basketball, and run the weight room in the spring.
I am married to Jennifer Dean, who is a 6th grade teacher here at Midway. We have four children, all in school here at Midway, Bailey (11th grade), Colton (9th grade), Aubrie (5th grade), and Dakota (2nd grade). I like to spend my free time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping with my family. |
